The CORIASCO company was one of the many coachbuilding companies in Turin. Founded by Giovanni Corisaco, from 1925 until the late 1980s various special bodies were built there based on series vehicles from FIAT, LANCIA, ALFA ROMEO, etc.

Large proportion of production was devoted to the construction of small commercial vehicles. When the FIAT 600 MULTIPLA appeared in 1956, CORIASCO immediately recognized that FIAT was only building it as a passenger vehicle with seven seats. The MULTIPLA 600 was hardly suitable for commercial use, as was possible with the VW T1 bus, for example.

Based on the MULTIPLA floor assembly, CORIASCO designed a panel van with up to six doors, a pickup truck and also a bus with all-round glazing. FIAT supplied the floor assemblies and the technology. A few thousand cars are said to have been built. The number of vehicles that remain today can be counted on a few hands.

The FIAT 600 MULTIPLA CORIASCO as a panel van was mainly ordered by companies with advertising needs. CORIASCO delivers them pre-painted in the desired design. There are pictures of fantastic examples in the style of the Italian advertising culture of the 1950s, for example peinted for radio stations, political parties, ice cream manufacturers, etc.

History:

Carlo Abarth could not resist the charm of these advertising vehicles either. He is said to have bought around 5 vehicles in the ABARTH design from CORIASCO. They all had a real exhaust pipe from the FIAT 600 attached to the front. Carlo Abarth used some of these cars for the factory as service vehicles and for advertising purposes. You can see them in the background of many photos at the race tracks. Others had to be bought by his large authorized dealers, such as those in Bari and Palermo. There are also photos of these vehicles. Some of the cars are said to have been equipped with the technology of the FIAT ABARTH deriv. 750 - Type 219. They then had 38 hp instead of 19 hp

My documents prove: This CORIASCO was the service vehicle of the ABARTH dealership in Palermo/Sicily with the license plate PA 49051. After that, it was used in a workshop in Termini Imerese/Sicily from 1966 onwards. Its trace is lost until it reappears in Italy and is completely restored. A dealer of vintage vehicles from Italy sold it to Luxembourg, where I was able to purchase it in 2019.
